Body Hair Removal Tips

Love being a woman? Well, it certainly is not easy to maintain so many roles and look your best at all times! One of our many pet peeves is removing unwanted body hair.

I’m sure not one of us likes to discover unsightly hair growth just before a party or get- together! Well, lucky for us, there are plenty of options available to get rid of body hair. However, it’s best to know what works well for you and your lifestyle, and most of all, your budget.
* Shaving
The easiest and fastest way to remove body hair, it is also the most common and cheapest method of removing body hair.
Razors made especially for women ensure that skin is left smooth and shiny, at least for the same day.
Shaving has many disadvantages, though. It leaves behind ingrown hair at times, encourages faster hair growth, and usually the hair grows back brittle. In some cases, it may cause skin darkening, especially in areas like the underarms and bikini. It is clearly a temporary method for hair removal, so don’t expect miracles.
* Lasers
For those looking for permanent results, and also if you have the budget, laser hair removal is probably a great option of getting rid of unwanted body hair, from almost any part of your body. It is done using pulsed light energy from a laser that destroys the hair at the root.
It takes several sittings, however, as it works slowly and steadily, so you will need a lot of patience. You can, however, look forward to many hassle free years, with no worries of body hair returning at untimely events.
Though mostly safe, this treatment is not recommended for people with dark skin tones. Also, in some cases, it is known to have caused rashes, scars, burns and keloids. If you choose this method, make sure you go to a trusted dermatologist or medical spa.
* Threading and Plucking
Facial hair like eyebrows, hair on the upper lip, lower lip, and chin can be shaped or altered by threading or plucking.
While tweezers can be used on your own to pluck out unwanted hair, it is better to get threading done at a salon, by an expert.
These methods, however, are time consuming and the effects usually wear out within two weeks.
* Waxing
It is painful, but a lot of women swear by its effects. Not only can you remove more hair at a time, it can be done in a few swift moves and removes hair from the root. It is usually safe for most skin types and is considered safe even for the facial and bikini areas.

The effects last usually for about a month to two, depending on individual hair growth. Some regulars insist that if you only stick to waxing and not use a razor, the rate at which hair grows reduces considerably.

The downside, however, is that it is best to get it done by an expert, because otherwise it will be messy and, let’s face it, it’ll take guts to pull out the strip yourself. These days, you can choose the type of wax, sugar, chocolate, aloe and more.

Cold wax strips are also available in the market as DIY kits, but they’re usually not as effective as hot waxing.

In fact, perfume ranks highest for its feel-good factor! Read on. Pulse points Perfume should be sprayed on the pulse points. There are five pulse points: the insides of the wrists, the insides of the elbows or the crook of the arms, the insides of the knees, the nape of the neck and just behind the ears. Unless you want to smell overwhelmingly potent, don't spray strong perfume on all the pulse points. Only do so if you are wearing a very mild perfume. Ideally, don't always spray perfume on the same pulse points every time. If you spray perfume on your wrists for example, spray them on the crook of your arms another time, and on the inside of your knees and the nape of your neck a third time.
