Today the singer is a divorcee (from ex-husband, music producer Jordan Bratman), a mum and a beauty icon, who in an interview with UK Marie Claire shares her thoughts on hair, lipstick and how being a mum hasn’t changed her take on beauty.
“When it comes to my hair, I am a chameleon,” says Christina.
“But although I love doing my own make-up, I have no patience for doing my hair. All those tools and products are just not in my comfort zone, I don’t know what I’d do without my hair team.” Of all her looks, Christina is probably best known for the vintage movie star look with pinned-up blonde curls and red lips.
“I love a pop of colour and it’s bright red that I always seem drawn to,” says Aguilera.
“If you’re doing a bright lip it’s important it doesn’t budge, it should look perfect all the time. I use a kiss-proof lipstick as my lips often touch my microphone when I’m performing.” Many mothers of small children complain about not finding the time for a beauty routine, but as an artist Aguilera feels differently.
